Six Traits for a Good Children Book

Idea: be very creative, have good pictures no less than 5, good moral
Organization: the story start off right like a childrens story suppose to start, it must have a beginning middle and end.
Voice: bring the story to life, the story not to long for the kids to read, the story is appropriate for children, interesting and not boring.
Sentence Fluency: clear and understandable for childeren, the sentences not to long and no run-ons.
Word Choice: easy enough for kids to read
Convention: no errors no mistakes in the story

Reflection

In class we wrote a few papers about different things. Out of those few I only had two. My first paper I did was kind of good I had a couple mistakes though. I think that paper was easier to write because I knew excatly what to talk about so that's why I had more. The second paper was kind of hard because I had to write about the Roots and I don't know much about that for real.
My strenghts as writer is my voice and convention in my paragraphs. It's not perfect but its cool. I can still work on everything to make it better especially my word choice and ideas. I do this by choicing better words to write and being more creative.

Heartless Figurative Language and Sound Devices

The song Heartless had a couple of figuarative language in it. Two of the figrarative of language is a metaphor and one was "The coldest story ever told". I believe thats a metaphor because a metaphor is a comparison and the coldest story ever told is like the hardest story or the story that has no feelings into it. The other metaphor is when he said "How could you be so doctor evil?" I think this is a metaphor because Kanye West is saying doctor evil as a very mean person.
Another thing was personification and that was "How could you be so, cold as the winter wind, when it breeze yo". A personification is making an inanimate object act like a person. In this quote Kanye is used "cold as the winter wind when it breeze" like the way some one act. And that mean someone thats someone thats heartless.
There was about three different sound devices. One of the sound devices is rhyme and that was "The coldest story ever told somewhere for along this road, he lost his soul" The words told, road, and soul is the words thats rhyming. There is two devices for Alleration. Alleration mean the repetition of initial sounds of the stressed syllables. One alleration is "Cold as the winter wind when it breeze yo", the three words that repeating is winter,wind, and when. Another one is "and yo I know some things you things that you aint told me", The words thats repeated is that, told, and things two times.
If you want to use figuative language then you have to have a good poem. This song was kind of a good one but I know there are ones thats way better.
